Dr. William Ramos
Dr. William Ramos is an American board certified OB/GYN. The advantage of being a Board Certified Gynecologist is that he has had a full four–year residency and has passed all the examinations required by the boards. He is one of our doctors that lives in Las Vegas which means that he is available to care for any and all complications 24/7.
Dr. Ramos is American born and American trained. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and the State University of New York (SUNY), School of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York. He completed a full four-year residency in OB/GYN at SUNY-Brooklyn. In addition, he had a full four-year residency in Pathology at Dartmouth Medical Center. Dr. Ramos is American Board Certified in OB/GYN, Pathology and Forensic Pathology.
He has been in Las Vegas since July of 1996, but has practiced in New York City, Reno, and New Hampshire prior to that. In the past, he has been affiliated with some of the country’s best medical schools: University of Nevada (Reno), Dartmouth (NH), New York University (NYC), and Columbia University (NYC).
When Dr. Ramos was in medical school, abortions were illegal. He remembers seeing 20 to 30 patients PER DAY with complications of criminal abortions. He started providing abortion services in 1970 when they first became legal and safe in the US. The Pro-Life groups and legislators cannot stop abortions. They can only make them illegal and therefore unsafe.
At present, Dr. Ramos is one of the most experienced doctors in the country in abortion care.
He has a wide reputation of quality patient care and safety. Our office meets or exceeds all standards of patient care of the National Standards of Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation. We are a member of (NAF) National Abortion Federation.
Most full-time abortion providers agree that it takes over 10,000 procedures before a physician really develops the skills to provide the highest quality of care with the minimal rate of complications. Almost all of our first trimester procedures are completed in five minutes or less. Dr. Ramos has been an abortion provider since 1970 (full-time since 1992), and has performed over 80,000 first and second trimester abortions. The advantage of being a full-time abortion provider is that we possess the special equipment and expertise that abortion care requires.
While all doctors occasionally have complications, Dr. Ramos’ rates have been “world class”.
Deaths | NONE in 80,000+ cases
Hysterectomies | NONE in 80,000+ cases (From complications)
Perforations | About one per 5,000 cases
Failed Abortions | Five in 80,000+cases (Ongoing pregnancies)
Incomplete Abortion | About one per 1,000 cases (Retained tissue)
We often tell our patients that the most dangerous part of their abortion is the drive home.
