A-Z Women's Center is a private
medical office, owned and operated by William Ramos, M.D.,
an American Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist.
Our décor is designed to be relaxing, attractive and warm. Each
patient is given an individual appointment rather than scheduling patients
in “waves”. Every patient has the opportunity to ask questions
at any point during the pre-operative process and to speak with the doctor
himself prior to the procedure.
We use a team approach to provide the best possible care for each patient,
enhanced by an attitude of warmth, respect, and complete confidentiality.
We recognize and believe that all women who come to us for our services
have individual needs and circumstances. Because of this, we always provide
individual one-on-one counseling in complete privacy. We never use “group”
counseling. However, at the request of the patient, we allow friends or
family members to participate. Our motto is that we try to be
“the nicest place that you never want to come back to”.
Since it is our desire to maintain a peaceful and quiet environment, children
are not permitted in our facility at any time.
Our Doctors
Dr. William Ramos and Dr. Adam Levy
are both Board Certified OB/GYNs. Other full-time abortion
providers are Family Practitioners, Emergency Room Physicians, or not
board certified at all. The advantages of board certified Gynecologists
are that they have had a full four-year residency and have passed all
the examinations required by boards. Our doctors are the only full-time
providers in Las Vegas, Nevada who have hospital admitting and surgical
privileges. As such, our doctors are the only ones who can care for any
and all complications. It also means that they have passed the rigid scrutiny
of the hospital credentials process.
At present, Dr. Ramos and Dr. Levy are two of the most experienced
physicians in the country in this field. They have a wide reputation of
quality patient care and safety. Our office meets or exceeds all standards
for patient care of the National Standards of Planned Parenthood and the
National Abortion Federation.
We are a member clinic of the National Abortion Federation ("NAF").
Dr. Ramos has been an abortion provider since 1970 (full-time since 1992),
and has performed over 50,000 first and second trimester abortions. The
advantage of being a full-time abortion provider is that we possess the
special equipment and expertise that abortion care requires.
Dr. Ramos is American born and American trained. He is a graduate of Dartmouth
College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and the State University of New York
(SUNY), School of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York. He completed a full
four-year residency in OB/GYN at SUNY-Brooklyn. In addition, he had a
full four-year residency in Pathology at Dartmouth Medical Center. He
is Board Certified in OB/GYN, Pathology and Forensic Pathology.
He has been in Las Vegas since July of 1996, but has practiced in New
York City, Reno, and New Hampshire prior to that. In the past, he has
been affilitated with some of the country's best medical schools: University
of Nevada (Reno), Dartmouth (NH), New York University (NYC), and Columbia
University (NYC).
When Dr. Ramos was in medical school, abortions
were illegal. He remembers seeing 20 to 30 patients PER DAY with complications
of criminal abortions. Every month two or three of these women died. He
started providing abortion services in 1970 when they first became legal
in New York State. He is firmly committed to keeping abortion legal and
safe in the U.S. The Pro-Life groups and legislators cannot stop abortions.
They can only make them illegal and therefore unsafe.
Dr. Levy has been Board Certified OB/GYN for more than 13 years. He was
trained at the University of Southern California School of Medicine and
the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine. He did
his OB/GYN residency in Fresno, California. He is an experienced abortion
provider. For the last ten years, Dr. Levy has been an active member of
the teaching staff at University Medical Center for the OB/GYN residents.
He has focused on teaching the surgical techniques the residents need
in order to become excellent surgeons. Dr. Levy has maintained a gynecology
private practice as well and performs office and hospital-based surgeries
with particular emphasis on endoscopic (minimally invasive) surgeries.
About Our Staff
Our counselors will discuss your decision with you, explain the procedure,
and answer all of your questions. The counselor can suggest anesthesia
options, provide birth control information, and offer emotional support.
A counselor or nurse will be in the procedure room with you to address
both your physical and emotional needs. The combined expertise of our
staff and physicians allow us the ability to give each woman the special
care she deserves.
A-Z Women’s Center’s staff is dedicated to a woman's

information you need in order for you to make the best decision possible.
